Robert W. Kingsley, 65, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away April 9, 2008. He was born April 5, 1943 in Gloversville, NY to Edison P. and Beatrice Bergmann Kingsley. Robert and his wife Kathleen moved to Punta Gorda from Saratoga Springs, NY in 2004. Together they spent their summers at their home in the Adirondack Mountains in Newcomb, NY. He was a printer by trade, serving his apprenticeship while working for General Electric at the Maqua Company in Schenectady, NY. He retired after 27 years of service as district lithographer from Niskayuna Central School District in Niskayuna, NY. He also owned and operated Quality Graphics in Saratoga Springs, NY. Robert enjoyed woodcarving, fishing, traveling and the sport of Curling. As a member and former Secretary of the Schenectady Curling Club, he designed the 75th Anniversary Club pin and was instrumental in the inaugural of the Men's Invitational Bonspiel. He traveled for many years representing the Schenectady Club competing in bonspiels throughout the northeast, Canada and Scotland. He was a member of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge #161. Locally, Robert was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the Kays-Ponger Funeral Homes staff, working as a funeral attendant. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathleen; daughter Caitlin A. and son Brendan R. all of Punta Gorda, FL; brother-in-law James Cruz Lorman of Orange, CA; niece, nephew and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda.
