Robert �"Bob†Russell Rioux, 72, of Venice, FL passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016. He was born May 29, 1943 in Quincy, Massachusetts to Henry Charles and Josephine Mae Rioux. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the National Guard Reserves. He retired as a Senior Captain with Delta Airlines after thirty years. While living in Massachusetts, he created a very successful youth hockey league, The Yankee Conference, in Hingham, MA. That also led him to help write a computer program that automatically scheduled the conference games. Bob was a loving father, husband, grandfather and wonderful friend to all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, their three sons, David (Diane) Rioux of Medina, Ohio; Brian (Brandy) Rioux of Wilmington, NC and Chris Rioux of Venice, FL as well as his five terrific grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday February 18, 2016 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service for a time of visitation.
