He was born on September 29, 1920 in Springfield, Massachusetts and came to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1970 from Landstuhl, West Germany. Mr. Locke retired from the military, army and air force, combined after 33 years of service. He was a member of the German-American Club of Port Charlotte.
Survivors include his 2 daughters, Diana Greg Vander Spoel of Port Charlotte, Florida and Gabriele Davis of Greenville, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Herta.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Rodney's life on Friday, July 11, from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida. Inurnment will be at a later date at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
