Roy J "Jack" Tate 73, of Port Charlotte passed away at his residence on Thursday August 24, 2011. Jack was born on July 8, 1938 in Gate City, Virginia to Reuben Scott and Helen Mae Davidson Tate. He graduated from Andrew
Jackson High School in 1957-1958. Jack served with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary from the late 1980's to the early 1990's. He is predeceased by his parents Reuben Scott and Helen Mae Davidson Tate. He is survived by his wife Sallie, brothers Robert Muriel and Ronald Scott Tate, sister in laws Martha and Lynette Tate, nephews Scott and Josh Tate, and a niece Lea Hobbs.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 27, 2011at 1:00PM from the Kays-Ponger Uselton Funeral Home 635 E. Marion Avenue Punta Gorda.
