

Selena graduated from Manasquan High School, NJ in 1962 and married Frank Bishop, Sr. in 1963. They recently celebrated their 58th anniversary in July. Selena was a devoted wife and mother who found joy in being a stay-at-home mother, and she took pride in raising her four boys and loving her husband.
Selena supported her sons throughout their athletic endeavors as their number one fan in the stands and as a board participant of Pop Warner Football, Little League Baseball, and high school athletic programs. While living in NJ, she worked with the elderly and cared for patients with Alzheimer’s and Dementia through home health care. Selena was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and their mission, and she found pleasure in volunteering at Sacred Heart Church and St. Vincent De Paul of Punta Gorda.
Selena was a committed follower of Jesus who was grateful for her salvation. She was best known for her smile, ability to see the best in others, and optimism even when facing tough times. She enjoyed family vacations to Englewood beach and Disney, splashing in the pool with her grandchildren, cruising to tropical destinations with her husband and friends, laughing and having a good time, watching nature, and sitting on the lanai with her dog, Daisy.
Selena was preceded in death by her father, Louis Vinai, and her mother, Beatrice Heartline Vinai of Belmar, NJ; and brother, Loius Vinai.
She is survived by her sister, Meri Forte-Namuj (George) Namuj; sister, Claire (Robert) Norcross; and brother, Richard (Jeanna) Vinai; her loving husband, Frank Bishop, Sr.; four sons, Frank (Debbie) Bishop, Jr., David (Dawn) Bishop, Mark Bishop, and Scott Bishop; six grandchildren, Richard (Michelle) Bishop, Jessie Bishop, Taylor (Bradley) Pinkus, Rachel (Chase) Smith, Zachary Bishop, and Katie Bishop; and two great-grandchildren Samuel and Emma Bishop; and nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, FL Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11 a.m. followed by the committal service at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
In lieu of flowers, Selena desired that donations be dedicated to research cancer and Parkinson’s disease.
