Susan Roberts was born in Urbana, Illinois, spent her childhood in Onarga, Illinois, and made Port Charlotte her home. Sue will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her beloved cats, as well as her gardening and musical talents. Preceded in death by her parents and elder brother, she is survived by nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

"I have loved best how the flowers rise and open, how the pink lungs of their bodies enter the fore of the world and stand there shining and willing -- the one thing they can do before they shuffle forward into the floor of darkness, they become the trees." (excerpt from Moccasin Flowers by Mary Oliver)

Sue was my grandparents' neighbor and in Florida. I will never forget our lovely chats during our visits, her elaborate Easter egg hunts, piano concerts on her baby grand, fresh seafood dinners, and much more. She was a long-time friend to my entire family and will surely be very missed.

Sue was my parents' neighbor and good friend for many years. She treated us like family and we felt the same about her. My daughters have many fond memories of Easter egg hunts in Sue's lovely backyard. Sue had a big heart and loved animals. Shortly after Hurricane Charley, a beautiful black cat showed up at our place. We tried to find his owners but none could be found. Sue took him in and named him King Tut. He was regal and handsome . She had him until the end of his days. We take comfort in knowing we will see Sue again. As Jesus said, "Because I live, you also will live".

Sue was my grandparents's neighbor in Port Charlotte for many years. I have fond childhood memories of visiting her at her house and playing by the pool. One of my favorite memories was a "spa day" that we had where the girls all did face masks out in the FL sun! Sue will be very missed.

Sue has been a beloved and close friend for 17 years. She loved FL and the water and enjoyed spending time outside gardening with her cats. Sue was a dedicated educator for many years. She shared her musical talents and could often be found playing the piano. She enjoyed watching football and was a big fan of Aaron Rodgers. We have wonderful memories of Easter egg hunts in her yard followed up with great seafood dinners. She will be missed but now is in the presence of her Savior whom she dearly loved.
