
Susan Lee Sartor, 66, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday November 4, 2008 while in the care of Life Care Center of Punta Gorda. Born December 17, 1942 in Meriden, CT to Adelbert "Red" and Margaret Gratta Budrow of Yalesville, CT. A 1961 graduate of Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, CT, Susan majored in Business Administration at Quinnipiac College in Hamden, CT. Before moving to Florida in the late 1960's, Susan worked at the Yankee Pedlar Inn in Torrington, CT. In Florida, she was employed in materials management at the Cape Coral Hospital and for several years, at Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida. Throughout her life, Susan was passionate and compassionate about all animals, especially her two dogs, Muffy and Jenny, whom she leaves behind. Susan maintained a remarkable sense of humor, despite the odds, something all those who knew her will miss.
She is survived by her sister, Claudia Gauches of Stonington, CT; a niece, Heather Rancourt and her husband Sean and their sons, Chase and Camden of West Hartford, CT and a nephew, Brent Gauches of Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, she leaves behind several cousins, two aunts, Stella Gratta and Grace Gratta, both of Meriden, CT and a very close friend, Wendell Austin of Springfield, MA.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 with the Rev Ralph Burton officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Animal Welfare League, 3519 Drance Street, Port Charlotte, FL 33980.
