
Tayman graduated from High School in Savannah Georgia and later received her Masters from Stetson University in Deland Florida.
She was a High School math teacher at Colonial High School in Orlando Florida until her Retirement. After her retirement she volunteered for Chanel 24, area hospitals in Orlando and at Valencia Community College. She was also a member of The Junior Sorosis .She enjoyed playing bridge and dancing. Before moving to Englewood Florida, she was a member of Delany Street Baptist Church (where she sang in the choir). She became a member of The First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte after her move to live with family.
She is survived by her children, Judge Carolyn Freeman and her husband Richard Freeman; Carroll "Smitty" Barco and his wife Sharon Barco; Tayman Barnett and her husband Steve Barnett; her grandchildren, Carolyn Kennedy, Eric Freeman, Athena Barco, C. Andrew Barco, Tayman Menke and Stephen Barnett; her great-grandchildren, Connor Kennedy, Hannah Kennedy, Maggie Menke and Kairi Barco. She also leaves behind her brother Robert Wise of Spartanburg, South Carolina, sister Bettye Walden of Winter Park, Florida and Polly Wise of Orange Park Florida.
There will be a graveside service at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2400 Harrell Road, Orlando, Florida 32817, Saturday May 5, 2012 at 11:00am. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to: Suncoast Humane Society, 6781 San Casa Dr., Englewood, Florida; your local Humane Society or the ASPCA.
