Terry Wayne Branscome

Terry W. Branscome, 54, of Punta Gorda, FL died November 21, 2007 at his home after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born December 17, 1952 in West Union, Ohio to Hugh and Norma Branscome. Terry was retired from the SW Florida Criminal Justice Academy where he was a firearms instructor. He was currently a Major with the Charlotte County Sheriffs Office in charge of Professional Standards and Training. He was a member of the local FOP Lodge #66 and former Vice President. He enjoyed shooting, old cars and family time. Terry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and friend. He taught others how to pay it forward and expect nothing in return.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Gayle, his children, Sonya Tyson of Punta Gorda, Jennifer Daniel Beckley of the North Pole, Alaska, Michael Branscome and Katrina Branscome, both of Punta Gorda, his grandson, Justin Tyson, his parents, his brother, Norman Branscome, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

The Visitation will be from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm, Monday, November 26, 2007 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. The Funeral will be 10:00 am, Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church of Punta Gorda, 507 W Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda. Burial to follow at Indian Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to the Katrina College Fund, c/o Charlotte County Sheriffs Office, 7474 Utilities Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33982.
