Thomas Borrelli, a devoted father, loving partner, proud Navy veteran, and cherished grandfather, passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 68 in Port Charlotte, Florida. His beloved wife, Sherry Minor, was by his side when he peacefully departed this world.
Born on July 31, 1956, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, Tom spent the majority of his life in California, where he built a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. He attended Saint Francis, a Catholic school, which laid the foundation for his strong character and deep devotion to family and faith. A proud Navy veteran, Tom served on the USS PAUL F. FOSTER, dedicating himself to serving his country with honor before transitioning to civilian life, where his heart remained steadfastly with those he loved.
Tom was the son of Mami and Donald Borrelli, and the second oldest of three brothers: Donald Borrelli, Mark Borrelli, and Kevin Borrelli. He was the father of five children: Christina Borrelli, Michelle Borrelli-Duncan, Matthew Borrelli, Robert Carr, and Tracy Stroud. Tom embraced Robert and Tracy as his own, showering them with the same love and care as his biological children. He was also a proud father-in-law to Andy Duncan, who married his daughter Michelle, and a doting grandfather to his beloved Greyson Borrelli.
Tom’s passion for life extended to his favorite pastimes: fishing, golfing, and cooking. Whether casting a line, teeing off, or grilling up something delicious, Tom found joy in the simple pleasures of life. As an avid chef, he loved cooking for his family, always ensuring that they enjoyed meals made with love. He was also an ardent sports fan, passionately cheering for his favorite teams: the Oakland A’s, the Raiders, and the Fighting Irish.
Above all, Tom will be remembered for the love and devotion he showed to his family. He was a loving partner to Sherry, and together they built a bond based on trust, mutual respect, and deep affection.
He is survived by his wife, mother, children, grandson, brothers, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. His legacy of kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 10:15am at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego California.
Tom’s family finds comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with those who passed before him. Rest in peace, Tom. You will never be forgotten.
