Thomas E. Cartwright, “Hoss”, 84, passed away on May 14, 2016 in St. Petersburg, FL. Thomas was born in Racine, Pennsylvania, son of the late Bessie and Thomas Cartwright. Thomas moved to Punta Gorda in 1960 and was a carpenter by trade and helped build some of the first homes in Port Charlotte. Thomas was a Veteran having served his country honorably in the US Navy. He was a member of The First Baptist Church in Punta Gorda.
Thomas is survived by one grandson, Thomas J. Cartwright of Germany, one brother; Joe Cartwright and his wife Charlotte of Henderson, NV, three nieces; Tammy Cartwright of Miami, FL, Stacy McKinster and husband Lowell of Kennesaw, GA, and Lori Kilber and husband James of Las Vegas, NV, 4 great nieces and 7 great nephews. Thomas was also survived by his best friend Ruth Settle of St. Petersburg.
Thomas was preceded in death by two wives; Ruth Parkins Cartwright, Cheryl Lawless Cartwright and two sons; Thomas C. Cartwright and Lawrence R. Cartwright.
