Thomas A. Macmillan, 84 of North Port, Florida, died May 13, 2009. He was born April 7, 1925 in Saco, Maine to Archibald and Grace Nielson Macmillan.
He moved to the North Port area in 1987 from Smithtown, New York. He was a retired Executive for the Boy Scouts of America of Nassau County, New York and a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church of North Port and he was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Macmillan; his sons, David E. Mary Ann Macmillan of Greer, South Carolina and Gregor N. Patricia Macmillan of Delmar, New York; his daughter, Laurie Helgans of Cutchogue, New York; his brothers, Robert of Lakewood, New Jersey and A.P. of Cape May, New Jersey and 5 grandchildren.
Visitation will be private. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in North Port. Burial will be private in Gulf Pines Memorial Park of Englewood.
