
Timothy E. Dutton
Timothy E. Dutton, 71, of Punta Gorda passed away on Oct. 11, 2014. He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Rochester, NY, to Henry and Ione Dutton.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 and honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1970. He earned his Bachelor of Math degree from Washburn University in Topeka, KS.
In 1970 moved with his family to Dayton, Ohio and began his career as a Programmer Analyst with NCR. In 1972 he accepted a position with Punta Gorda Isles as a Senior Programmer Analyst. He remained there until his retirement in 2004.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, recreational skeet shooting, competition archery, reading, wood working, nature walks, camping and water skiing with his family. In his later years enjoyed spending time with his 7 grandchildren.
Tim volunteered countless hours with many youth organizations of Charlotte County. He was a Pop Warner Warriors Head Coach for 9 years and a board member, a Punta Gorda Little League Player Agent, a long time member of the Pop Warner Chain Gang for Charlotte High School, an Instructor for the local Ranger Rick Nature Club, he also assisted with Cub Scouts, Boys Scouts, Youth Museum Follies and the Miss Charlotte County Pageant. Tim was recognized by the Fort Myers News-Press and was awarded "The Heart of Gold Award" for his outstanding service and dedication to the youth of Charlotte County.
Tim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carmela, his two sons Mark and Aleen Dutton of Hillsborough, NC, and Joe and Kim Dutton of Punta Gorda, FL. He leaves 7 grandchildren Jordan, Andrew, Laurel, Ryan, Cameron, Madeline and Carter. He leaves 7 surviving brothers and sisters, Terry and Kathy Dutton of Webster, NY; Tommy and Eileen Dutton of Livonia, NY; Gary and Mimi Dutton of Spring Water, NY; Todd and Beth Dutton of Boston, MA; Tracy and Walter Jenkins of Greenville, NC: Casey and Mike Ross of Victor, NY; and Gay and John Card of Victor, NY. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sherry DeLola, NY. He was a proud uncle to 14 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.
