Trevor enjoyed sports. He played football for Manchester High School and was an avid cricket player. He also had a strong appreciation for cars. One of his favorite cars was a blue Humber Sceptre. His athleticism was also evident in his passion for cycling. Trevor owned many bicycles that he rode both in Jamaica, New York and during his retirement years in Florida.
After high school, Trevor secured a job with Alcan Jamaica LTD, a mining and aluminum manufacturer. During his time there he worked as a Senior Technician, in the Kirkvine Works Central Laboratory and retired after 27 years.
He married the love of his life, Kathleen Joyce Murray on July 18, 1964. Over the years they were blessed with two children, a daughter Michelle and a son, Sean. They were the joy of his heart, and as a family some of their most fond times were spent together at the beach and of course attending his football and cricket matches.
Trevor immigrated to the United States in the 1980s and settled in Queens, New York. He then secured a job within the Housing Cooperation in Manhattan and retired in 1999.
Although he liked the seasonality of living in New York, he especially enjoyed when the weather turned warm so he could spend time in the backyard barbecuing and gardening.
In 2003, Trevor and Kathleen relocated to Punta Gorda, Florida to enjoy their retirement years. They joined St James Episcopal Church and became active members.
Florida was the perfect place for him to devote more time to gardening. He managed to grow so many of the fruits and vegetables he loved in Jamaica. Sugar cane, yam, mangos, papaya, star fruit, oranges, sorrel, guava and callaloo thrived under his care.
Trevor was known for his infectious smile, good nature, kind spirit and meticulous attention to every detail.
On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Trevor peacefully transitioned to be with his Lord.
Trevor is preceded in death by his father, Herland, his mother Rosa Lillian, his brother Michael, and his sisters, Joyce (Hutchinson) and Sheila (Foster).
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen, daughter Michelle Black, son Sean Hudson, son-in-law Michael Black, daughter-in-law Kesia Hudson, grandchildren Stephen and Lauren Black, sister-in-law Eileen Murray, brother-in-law Winston Murray, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
