You told me that you dreamed that you could run again like you did when you were a little girl; running barefoot down the sidewalk with your hair flying behind you, running like the wind.

Mom, you were my "Guardian Angle" for over seventy years.  Your Love for me was so strong that I escaped everything except the North Vietnamese gunners but even they couldn't catch me.  I tried to keep you from leaving us but I didn't have your special powers. 
I know you weren't ready to go, you loved life too much.  In my sorrow, words can't express all the thoughts I have about you, you were so much a part of my life and who I am.

My Dear Aunt Virginia, as a child I remember you as a young, new mother of Curtie.  You had just been a dancer at the Palace Theatre in NYC where you met your handsome, charming husband.  You were absolutely beautiful and always have been with your lovely smile and love for others.  
      Thank you for loving  me and being so caring.  
As you know, our faith in Christ gives us everlasting life, nothing we do or say, it's by His Grace that we are saved.

Dear Curt, Mike, and Family,

I had the opportunity to meet your mother and your sister at a favorite friends Beautiful home-You Two! I remember she & I talking about "Good Health" issues and the importance of "Soy" in your diet.  Evidently, she practiced what she preached in order to have lived such a good,  long, full, rich, Life!

Mom, my world has been shattered into a million pieces by your passing; its   a puzzle that I can't make sense of. The sun still rises over "our" river, our herons Boo and Moochie still visit our dock and the coffee is still made in the morning, but your cup is empty, your voice doesn't greet the morning and the house is so still.
You were my Mother, my best friend, my inspiration, my hero and now my guardian angel.

A woman who loved to laugh she especially loved her son Curt's jokes-no matter how off color, a good martini, Frank Sinatra, dancing, art she was working on a portrait when she left us, her house on the river, her childhood apple tree, her sons Curt and James and her daughter Susan, my Dad, her friends, our cats Yoshi, Ling and Willow, her dog Calvin,animal rights she became a vegetarian late in life, women's rights and human rights.
Virginia had a loving generous heart and she believed that all things were possible in this life. She never lost her child-like wonderment     about life. She taught me to believe in the good in people and to enjoy the small pleasures in life-a sunrise, an autumn moon, the lights twinkling on the river at night, a good cup of coffee. She taught me to never grow old, to never stop learning. She taught me to listen. She believed in living life to the fullest. She believed in angels. She believed in me.
