She was born on May 5, 1920, in Sandborn, IN, and moved here in 1981. Virginia was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College with a Master Degree from St. Frances College, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was a Guidance Director of New Haven High School IN, and a business teacher.
Virginia was a member of the United Methodist Church, Honors Society for Teachers, Order of the Eastern Star and Kingsway Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and was actively involved with the Port Charlotte Village.
She is survived by brothers, Rev. Thomas Shirley Small, of Port Charlotte, David Ruth Small, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Margaret Atkins of Port Charlotte; Sister-in-law, Niola Small of Shelbyville, IN; step children, Dr. Brad Korn, Burce Korn, Richard Korn, Marti Korn and Nancy Thissen. She was preceded in death by late husbands John West, 1971; Richard Korn, 1998; parents David Anna Small; sister, Rose Small; brother Dean Small.
Services will be held privately at Scipio Cemeteryat a later date.
