
Warren Arthur Mendenhall, Sr., 91, of Venice, FL passed away Monday December 29, 2014 after putting up a good fight against Diabetes. He was born August 26, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN to Eugene and Ida (nee Widstrom) Mendenhall. Warren was a veteran of the US Army Air Force and served during WWII in the 9th Army Air Corps. He owned Flood Sheet Metal/Heating and Air Conditioning in District Heights, MD for many years until he retired and moved to Florida in June of 1991. Later, he worked as a Security Guard, most recently at the Oaks in Sarasota. While in Maryland, Warren was an active member of the Lions Club and had recently become a member of the local Sons of the American Revolution.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Mendenhall; three sons, Warren Jr (Marie) of Venice, FL, Ernest (Margaret) of Bowie, MD and John (Stephanie) of Gettysburg, PA; three daughters, Mary "Dee" Paul of Venice, FL, Aleta Hoy of Venice, FL and Margaret Anne "Mehgan" (Joey) Walton of Harpers Ferry, WV; 10 grandchildren, Cory (Ethan) Grace, Jill Herl, Christopher (Amy) Hoy, Kevin (Dana) Hoy, Michael (Brooke) Hoy, Ross Mendenhall, Will (Meghan) Mendenhall, Rebecca Mendenhall, Stevie Mendenhall and Brenna Walton; step-grandson Michael (Ketti) Wiley; great grandchildren, Lily, Garion, Ryan, Kyle, Connor, Xavier and Madison; step great grandchildren, Evan and Claire.
