
William Thomas "Tom" Hull, Jr., 89, of Punta Gorda, Florida, died May 6, 2010. Tom was born July 13, 1920 in LaBelle, Florida to William Thomas and Amy Foote Hull. Tom married Florence Conrod of Alva, Florida and they had four children. William Thomas "Tommy", James David, Paula Frances and Hugh Robert. After Florence's death in 1964, Tom married Faye Alderman and expanded his family with Faye's three children, Alan, John Mark, and Kevin. Tom and Faye were married for 40 years. During his working career, Tom was a heavy equipment operator and a rancher. He was an excellent dragline and dozer operator and worked on the development of Deep Creek, Punta Gorda Isles and Port Charlotte. In his spare time he loved music and could play the guitar, harmonica, piano, accordion, organ and had a nice baritone voice. He and Faye, an accomplished organist, played for several churches in Charlotte County and when they retired to North Carolina, continued to play not only at church but at social gatherings. Tom was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, James David Hull of LaBelle, FL; Paula Bucky McQueen of Punta Gorda, FL; Alan Connie Alderman of Cantonment, FL and Kevin Alderman of Arcadia, FL; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by his wife Faye Hull in 2008, his sons William "Tommy" Hull in 1993, Hugh Hull in 2005 and step-son, John Mark Alderman in 2005.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow with military honors at Indian Springs Cemetery.
