William Gorton, 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, January 18,2023
William, fondly known as “Dan” or Denny, was born to William Gorton and Helen Lucker in Deer Park, New York. After High School he enlisted in the Navy, where he was stationed in Scotland. After his service, he started working in construction and later went on to start his company building custom homes.
William is survived by his wife, Jeannette (Married 52 years) and two children, Danielle (Don), Sandra (Timothy), his grandchildren, Hunter, Brianna, MacKenzie (Nathan), Michael, Shellby and great grandsons Jackson and Thomas. Along with his nephews, Bart, Charles and David, Nieces, April, Dawn, Heather, Michelle, Erika, Christine, Colene and other great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Father, William, Mother, Helen, Brother, Brian and Sister Mary.
William was proud to serve his country and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved the ocean, being in the mountains, boating, fishing, car races and history. He was kind and caring to all. He always had a smile and was a kid at heart.
He will be missed tremendously, leaving a void that cannot be filled.
