
ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL
WILLIAM F. GRIFFIN, 87 of Englewood Sarasota County died February 24, 2008. He was born on February 25, 1920 in Boston, MA and came to this area in 2002 from Cape Cod, MA. He was a Lieutenant-Inspector with the Boston Fire Department for 33 years. Mr. Griffin served with the U.S. Army in WWII with the 623rd Engineers. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Bravery while serving in Europe with General Pattons 3rd Army. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was an avid Golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, William Linda Griffin, Jr. and David Pamela Griffin both of Mass; two step-sons, John and Lawrence Boyle both of Mass; three step-daughters, Nancy and Janet Boyle and Carolyn Burgess all of Mass; daughter-in-law, Sue Ryan of Florida; grandchildren, William, III and Amy Behson both of New York, Eric Griffin of Ohio, Cathy Griffin of Mass and Christopher Griffin of Nevada and one great grandson, Nicholas Behson of NY. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Griffin.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. at the Lemon Bay Funeral Homes, Englewood Chapel. You may express your condolences to the family at, www.lemonbayfh.com. Lemon Bay Funeral Homes, Englewood Chapel is in charge of cremation arrangements.
