Jim was born on October 24, 1949 in Cleveland, OH to William and Emily (Miller) Horn. He found his calling in sales, winning many awards throughout his career. On May 20, 1972, he married Barbara Lynn Horn (Spellman). They had two sons, William IV (Bill) and Paul.
Jim had many passions over the course of his life, ranging from cars to motorcycles to rescuing shelter animals. He loved music, especially Motown, and he was an avid reader of biographies and historical books. He was known for his loyalty, his for hard work and determination, for his genuine care for others, and for his sense of humor. He was a proud father and grandfather.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) James Horn, Jr., and his mother, Emily (Miller) Horn. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara; his sons, William (Bill) and Paul; his grandchildren, Ella, William V (Liam), and Soren; his brother Randolph; and several cousins.
A private family gathering will be held to honor his memory. Donations may be made in his honor to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County.
