William R. Taylor, also known as "Pete," age of 76 of Englewood, FL passed away February 19, 2009. He was born August 21, 1932 in Millbury, MA to Jessie and William Taylor.
"Pete" served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was then employed by Federal Aviation Administration in Virginia for 28 years as an Air Traffic Controller Supervisor. He was one of the few controllers who had security clearance for Air Force One. He then moved to Florida in August of 1989 where he resided in Englewood. Pete was member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3885, Englewood Elks #2378, the Loyal Order of the Moose #1933 where he served as a past governor all in Englewood and the American Legion Post #0293 of Purceville, VA.
Pete will be greatly missed by his wife Priscilla of 30 years; along with his sisters Francis Taylor, Doris Taylor and Gertrude Noel. He also has a brother Edward Taylor all of Millbury, MA. Other survivors included his step children Denis Lanning and her child Uriah Edwards, Englewood, FL, Scott Lanning, Pigeon Forge, TN and his child Christian Lanning, Brandon, Fl. Lisa and John Palm, Plant City, FL and their children Sydney and Brandon Palm.
A memorial service in honor of Pete will be given by the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Englewood Elks will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. The services will be held at Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel.
