Alex was born in Scotland, the youngest of four boys He joined the Merchant marine during WW2 visiting many ports around the world. After the war he relocated to Vancouver where he became a jeweler and met Gwen, the love of his life. They married and had two children, Anne and Russell. They built a home in Coquitlam where he enjoyed gardening and photography. Alex and Gwen travelled extensively and enjoyed the company of their many friends from far and wide. Alex remained in the family home into his 101 year. He was predeceased by his wife Gwen of 62 years. Alex will be sadly missed by his daughter Anne Lum (Daymon), and son Russell (Cindy) as well as his four adoring grandchildren Devon (Amanda), Whitney(Kyle), Alyssa, and Sarah (Levi).
