Rene passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
She was predeceased by Reg, her loving husband of 64 years and leaves behind her sons John (Dolly), Jim (Leslie) and daughter Jane as well as many beloved Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
Rene grew up in Burnaby with her four siblings whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed a wonderful life. There were many trips abroad, cruises with family and friends, wintering at their home in Palm Springs, spending summers in Birch Bay and boating.
Rene was an avid crafter. Everyone knew of her great talent for knitting - many babies have enjoyed her outfits and blankets over the years!
Rene always looked forward to Thursday night dinners out which were mandatory after getting her hair done. She loved getting dressed up and had a passion for shopping and all things sparkly!
Throughout her life Rene was gracious, kind and always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile.
She was often heard saying that she felt so lucky to have “lived the very best life” and felt so fortunate to have had such incredible experiences and a loving family.
Rene didn’t let her age slow her down. She was enjoying special family times including recent trips to Hawaii, Palm Springs, Vancouver Island and the Okanagan.
We would like to thank Christina from Seaside Homecare, Physio2u, Holly McPhadyen, Jane and Rachel for providing loving care allowing Rene to remain in the home she adored.
While we will miss her dearly it is a comfort knowing she is reunited with her ‘Reggie Bear’.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 1 , 2023 from 12-4 at the Coast hotel in Tsawwassen.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke foundation of Canada, BC Cancer or Delta Hospital Foundation.
