Dorothy Durand

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Carol Dorothy Durand on Saturday, August 26, 2023 after a long battle with a debilitating illness.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters Bonnie Karhukangas (Rob), Shannon Svingen-Jones (Eric), and son James Durand (Marcela); brother Bill Kuehn (Helen), sister-in-law Claudette Durand, and grandchildren: Sarah, Amy, Hope, Dane and Simon. Dorothy was a loving Wife, Mother, Nanny, Aunt and friend to many.

Dorothy was born in Winnipeg Manitoba on July 17, 1943 to Herman and Clara Kuehn (nee: Weissig). She had strong family values, a positive attitude, a zest for life, and steadfast faith. She loved to have a good time with her friends and family.

A golden heart stopped beating

Two sparkling eyes at rest

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best

She will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September, 9th at 1:00 pm at First Memorial Funeral Services Burkeview Chapel, 1340 Dominion Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC V3B 8G7
