With profound sadness we announce the passing of TINALIGA, Gloria (de Lara) “OYA” a loving and devoted mother. Gloria, passed away peacefully at her home in Port Coquitlam, BC on September 11, 2020 Friday at 5am. Nanay “Oya” as everyone calls her, was born in Paluan, Occ. Mindoro Philippines on April 25, 1933. “Our mother was the strongest woman, I’ve ever met”. Mother was the second child of the 11 children of Santiago and Maria. Being the eldest female in the family she was in charge in looking after her younger siblings during the war.” I remember her stories, how they hid under the ground and made sure all her siblings are not creating any noise” Mom is a very tough lady with a big role in her family. Gloria spent her life as a devoted wife and loving mom to her children. She came to Canada in June 2016 was granted to become an immigrant at the age of 85 it may be a short 3 years, but she was comfortable and happy. Predeceased by her husband Pedro in June 1993, Daughter’s Norma in February 2010 and Helen in July 1985—She will be missed by her children Fe (Eddie), Manuel (Filipina), Antonio (Eloisa), Teck (Brenda) Grandchildren PJ(Victoria), Edgie (Jean), JP, Norene (Ieshua), Angel(Jemar), Cherry, Mafe, AJ, Shanty, Ajam, Aries Great-grandchildren Selwyn, Jose, Warwick, Claire, Sophie, Zion and all her family and friends.
Gloria was a dedicated and loving mother to her children and “Lola” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
