Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because, I will remember you all, and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest a little while. As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you. Author - Joey Beighley

We are so sad to announce the passing of our parents, Dale and Janie. Married
for 68 years, they had a full and rewarding life. They are survived by their 3
children Michael (Kelly), Mark (Mara) and Mary Catherine (Scott). They were
especially proud of their 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Dale was born in Oxford, Nova Scotia, the youngest of 6 children. After finishing
high school, he joined the RCMP and ultimately had a long career in the financial
industry. After stops in Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec, the
family settled in North Vancouver. There, he and Janie enjoyed a wonderful 52
years watching their family grow.
Janie was born in London, Ontario, older sister to her brother John. Sadly, they
lost their father at a very young age and Janie learned to be self dependent as a
young child. Her family was always her main priority. She was a wonderful
mother and wife.
Dale and Janie loved their home, their garden, their Koi pond and their family.
There were many gatherings at 1063 over the years celebrating birthdays,
anniversaries and holidays. They were caring and generous and will be missed
by all who knew them. They felt very lucky to be surrounded by caring
neighbours who were extremely helpful to them in their later years.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lion's Gate Hospital for the care
they were provided in the last few years of their life. They were both very grateful
and felt privileged to be cared for so well.
At their request, there will no service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a
donation to Lion's Gate Hospital foundation or the SPCA.
