With profound sadness, Paul Seipp’s family shares that he passed away tragically in Port Moody, BC on May 7, 2026, leaving family and friends heartbroken.
Left to mourn, with cherished memories and a legacy of love, are Paul’s wife, Susan, and their children Joshua and Samantha, his parents Richard and Barbara Seipp (Oakville, ON), sister Gail and her husband Scott Stewart and their children Robert and Claire (Oakville, ON), parents-in-law John and Paula Hillyard (St. John’s, NL), brother-in-law Jeff Hillyard and his wife Kelly and their son James (Calgary, AB), first cousin and best friend since birth, Greg Moores, and his wife Julie and their daughters Sara and Lauren (St. John’s, NL). Paul was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Frank and Mary Seipp (Summerland, BC) and Arthur and Beatrice Cramm (Corner Brook, NL).
Paul also leaves to mourn a large circle of extended family members, including aunts, uncles and cousins from coast to coast, and an enormous group of friends, colleagues and acquaintances, each of whom is better off for having interacted with him, let alone getting to know him, love him and benefit from his time on this earth.
Born in Corner Brook, NL, Paul grew up an avid downhill skier, boater, water skier and competitive swimmer. He represented Newfoundland and Labrador as a swimmer at the Canada Games and his love of skiing continued into adulthood. He took every opportunity to join family ski outings and, in recent years, Paul could often be found in or around his boat, with his favourite tunes playing. He began to love British Columbia as a child, through visits with his grandparents in Vancouver, and living here most recently allowed him to enjoy all these passions.
Paul was educated at Dalhousie University (B. Comm., M.B.A.). He held the designation of Chartered Professional Accountant and was a Fellow of both the Institute of Canadian Bankers and the Canadian Securities Institute. Paul spent his entire 32-year career with BMO Bank of Montreal. He began in Halifax as a work term student on the bank’s front line of customer service, and most recently held the position of Regional President, Prairies Central Canada, based in Calgary. Through turns in commercial, business and retail banking, Paul interacted with and impacted many lives and careers. He was one of a small group of BMO executives who have held retail, business banking and commercial leadership mandates for 9 provinces and 2 territories.
Paul and Susan had begun to travel more extensively in recent years, sharing their love of exploring the world and, most importantly, doing it together. Paul had also re-engaged with scuba diving, an interest he first cultivated in early adulthood. As they journeyed together, Paul and Susan were often reminded of how fortunate they were to have found each other, all those years ago in Corner Brook. For all his experience, success and accomplishments, Paul cherished his time with Susan, Josh and Sam above all else, and that was evident to all.
Paul will be remembered as a deeply loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and cousin. His kindness and generosity were evident in every facet of his life. He took pride in building and creating family memories and stories. He made every effort to keep us connected and in touch, tying family and friends together – the glue of our family.

Reception to follow service
In lieu of flowers, Paul’s family suggests you consider donating to a favourite charity, as this will align with Paul’s lifetime of focusing on others more than himself. Paul’s family will be donating to Dyslexia Canada in his honour, as this cause was very special to him.
Finally, Paul’s family has learned that ‘gofundme’ pages and other fraudulent ‘fundraising’ activities have emerged online in the wake of Paul’s passing. These are not legitimate, so please do not make any financial contributions to them.
