Penelope "Penny" Anne Nicholas

Born in Port Alberni, she came to Vancouver and met a dashing young man named Don. They were married shortly after and started their family.

Penny was well known throughout the sports and community service groups, primarily with Poco Figure Skating and Skate Canada. She was overjoyed to be selected as a competitors concierge at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Figure Skating event.

An avid Canucks fan, she enjoyed watching all levels of hockey. Penny loved spending her time on 'Rowdy Row' at Cultus Lake surrounded by longtime friends. She was an integral part of the Krafty Raft Race fundraising team and organizing Soup Day in the campground.

Penny was fearless, strong, independent, tough, fair, caring and loving all at the same time. Never afraid of a challenge, she faced each day with a grit in her teeth and a smile on her face. She is now our guardian angel and will be dearly missed.

Penny is survived by her loving husband Don, children Geoff (Melissa)and Heather (Tom), grandchildren Blas & Naia and grandcats Bruce & Nebula, Siblings Fran(Mac), Don(Marg), Helen(Christian) and Dave(Diane) and extended family.
