Deepest  Condolence  To Joanne  and  Families. I'm really sorry   I missed the memorial Service  held on June 10.  I wasn't able to make it.
 Pastor Vernon  Priebe    was the best Pastor that I ever new over  all the years in Cloverdale. I loved I loved his wife  Joanne very much. 
 Enjoyed having meals at there house. Still make her favorite marsh=mellow salad.  The couple had a heart for serving their Lord. I enjoyed Pastor Vern's  teaching  very much.
 Forever in my heart  and will never be forgotten.

Dear friends when we heard of your loss we were so sad of all if you.   Your family ministry impacted my family life & life forever.  In my mind & life I aimed to emulate the living, giving, sharing Jesus lifestyle that we clearly saw & experienced when we came to know Jesus. I’ll never forget the times of discipleship that your family took the time to teach us.  Teaching us at the ages my family members were at. From age 2 to adult each came to know & love & follow Jesus. When I read many of the passages in Romans I hear Vern’s voice expounding on it in a passionate way. He instilled the importance & blessing of committing Scripture to memory & involving it in every day life. Few people could leave a lasting impression like Vern Priebe. To see the pictures of him rolling skating down the hill at Minnikada, the homemade pontoon boat, playing ball, playing an instrument or preaching a sermon - these are just a sampling of the many images stamped in my mind because I was so fortunate to have been part of those memories too. He was one the many father figures I benefitted from and which we all need several of as we grow up. It was a privilege to be part of a family so closely linked to the Priebes. We'll miss Vern but can't wait to see what he will have built in heaven by the time we get there too!

My older brother Vern was a fabulous Baseball player. He excelled at pitching. When he practiced at home I was his catcher.  His good pitching was well known.  Two Scouts for Major baseball teams approached Vern and asked him if he wanted to get into the systems of major baseball teams. Vern’s parents had taken their sons to a Billy Graham Crusade in Seattle. Vern went forward at the meeting and accepted Christ as his Saviour and he wanted to serve the Lord.  So he declined the scouts offer.

Our deepest condolences to all the family and Joanne. We have so many fond memories of all of you. The verses in 2Timothy 4:7&8. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith . Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day- and not only to me , but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 

Enderby, in the late 60's I remember Dad taking us boys up a mountain behind our house to pray and read the Bible together, before school and always just before the sun rose. To this day that has impacted my memory of Dad so well, he knew his Bible and like his Dad( Grandpa Harry)always memorized scripture verses.  It's the tie that binds, being in the 
word. Just felt to share that vivid memory! Thanks Dad and I rejoice that we share a Risen Saviour!🙏


My deepest condolences to the Priebe family. I have many fond memories of Pastor Vern. As my first pastor, he was instrumental in developing a firm foundation for my newfound Christian faith. His no-nonsense biblical-based sermons, coupled with his servant's heart and tireless work ethic, was a positive example in my life, and in the lives of those that he touched. He was a talented man who was blessed and used by God in so many ways. We deeply mourn his passing, but rejoice that he is home with the Lord.

I have many wonderful memories of Vern Priebe. One that stands out  was that he was my Sunday School teacher during my high school years. He was an excellent teacher  and he even gave us exams that we had to write. At the time, I am not so sure we appreciated all the studying that we had to do, but when I went to first year Bible School I appreciated the deep rich grounding I already had in the Word of God because of Vern's thorough teaching.  God's peace to all the family!     

Thank you for sharing SUCH a beautiful video tribute! It brought back SO MANY great memories of your family’s time here in Lloydminster 😉 We mourn & grieve along with you on the loss of your husband, Dad & Grandpa but also rejoice on the impact his life made in SO many others and we look heavenward to the day when all family & friends will be united once more! ❤️ Sending hugs to you all!!

Dear Priebe family,
While we deeply grieve for your loss, we definitely celebrate the life of Vern Priebe. 
Vern was a dynamic leader for our church in Lloydminster. 
He was such a ‘can do’ ‘make it happen’ individual.  This resonated with us as a young couple at the time the Priebe’s were pastoring our church. His hands on approach to life included him offering to pour our basement floors in our first split level home we were building in the city.  This practical approach was repeated so often as we were expanding the church camp north of the city; in constructing buildings to building paddle boats and so much more. 
In the midst of this he was a solid, caring teacher, preacher, leader. 
Thank you Vern, ; thank you family for sharing him with our church and community of Lloydminster .

One of my favorite Uncle Vern memories was during Sunday school at Cloverdale Baptist, he was demonstrating how powerful God was to a large group of us kids and used my Dad, his younger brother, Jerry as an example. I remember he had my Dad hold a spike or large nail outstretched in his arm to his side as long as possible. Now my Dad was very tall and strong in his late 30's and worked in construction. As Dad struggled to hold his arm outstretched with the spike, Uncle Vern spoke about how much more powerful God was and we could always rely on Him to uphold us. I watched with glee as my Dad's arm began trembling and eventually he lost the battle! This story demonstrates Uncle Vern's interest in the young children in his flock, his unique style of message delivery and of course his  sense of humor by making his strong brother a bit of a spectacle!! 

At the Lloydminster Baptist Church across from the old creamery Mr. Vern Priebe wanted to take my motorcycle for a ride.  I didnt realize it at the time but he didnt know the location of the brakes.  He was wearing black dress shoes at the time.  When he went flying through the yield sign he planted his shoes on the pavement to use as brakes.  As a result there were two black streaks on either side of the motorcycle.  The Booth brothers and I were laughing so hard that we were slow to come to his aid.  He just laughed and  said that was quite a ride.  Another memory is when Mr. Dave Isaac and I were working at Pleasantview Camp we often had devotions with Mr. Priebe and got to see his heart.  There are many other memories but they were all great.

Cloverdale Baptist Church is where we met. In the choir I remember the time Vern telling us not to look at the eye over there, and the Sunday morning when he asked Pastor Edwards to take over the service. He had a cut from shaving and his face was dripping blood!
Loved both Vern and Jo.

So many memories of my dad, trying to sum up part of the picture of his life in these words:  adventurous, faithful, hardworking, mentor, loyal, focused, giving, athletic, musical, creative inventor.

We have wonderful memories of the years your family came to minister at FBC In Lloydminster. Vern was a dedicated pastor, giving of himself to the church whole heartedly. We grew in our faith sitting under his ministry and leadership. Your family became not only our pastor family but our personal friends. Our kids became friends as well as we as parents are still friends.

Vern was a hard driving individual that could always be relied upon to  do what was the right thing to do and was not afraid to do it.  He was a dedicated and hard working Christian minister.  I got close to him when the two of us toured various Christian camps in B.C. to get ideas respecting the development of the Baptist Camp ministry in Lloydminster.

While in B.C. we got together with some of his brothers and spent the day skiing.  Poor Vern, the rest of us were skiers, but not so for Vern.  But that didn't stop him.  By the end of the day Vern looked like an abominable snowman in motion tumbling down the slopes. 





This man taught me, to name a few, how to use a table saw, hold a hammer, how to use a shovel properly; to appreciate nature (the smell of freshly cut wood) and all the small things in it and placed in me the love of paddling a canoe. 
It doesn’t stop there; he coached me (and many of my friends) how to throw a ball, swing a bat and run the bases properly, took me on adventures that were borderline dangerous (but oh so fun), encouraged me (read-made me 😉 ) play piano and saxophone in front of the church, baptized me in Sandy Beach Lake and never gave up on me, no matter how undeserving I was.
But most importantly this man taught me how to love Jesus, appreciate a good song praising God and demonstrated unwavering prayer for those he loved and some he barely knew. See you in heaven one day,  Dad!!
