It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William George McMath on January 9th (1933 - 2023), predeceased by his parents William Young McMath and Jane Forrest Vallance, and his sister Elizabeth Cleland.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Sarah Forrest Clark McMath, and his children David (Katherine), Carol Jones (Andrew), Linda Kenkel (Stephen) and Diane Foudy (Brian), and his grandchildren Ian (Carrie), Peter (Lindsey), Jonathan, and Melissa (Donovan); Jamie (Danika) and Matthew (Keri); Scott (Lindsey), Ryan (Hailey) and Adam (Jenna); and Erin and Kayla; and by his great-grandchildren Rowan, Ivy, Benjamin, Zion, Eli, and Stella; and his sister, Jean Page (John), sister-in-law Violet Paterson (Graham), and brother-in-law Gordon Clark (Christine).
Also survived by nieces and nephews Sandra (Alastair), Eileen (Malcolm), Marion (David), Gordon (Jacqueline), Kenneth (Shulagh), Scott (Susan), Jennifer (Kate), Elaine (Ken), Barbara (Andy), Gordon (Jeannie), Pamela (Helmar), and Andrew (Kelly).
William was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1963, raising his family and living in retirement in Beaconsfield, Quebec until moving to Port Moody, British Columbia in 2020. He lived a life of faith, was a true gentleman, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed golf throughout his life, playing as a young man in Scotland and until 2021. He took pride in his career as an engineer in the aeronautics industry and was most proud of his involvement in the International Space Station (Canadarm).
