Dad was born and raised in Styal, Alberta on the farm. He served in the Navy, so he could always tie a good knot. He fished, golfed, curled and loved to travel. As kids, he told us he’d been everywhere in the world and we believed him. He worked for Canadian Pacific Railway his entire career, based in Port Coquitlam where he built his family home where he resided for 65 years.
Dad never threw anything away, appreciated a good nap, crosswords, feeding his birds, and was always up for a game of crib. He loved to watch the news, M*A*S*H and Heartbeat.
Dad was predeceased by Norma, his wife of 60 years and sons Greer and Lorne. He is survived by his kids Cathy (Richard) and Shane (Kathleen) daughter-in-law Lois, siblings Alice and Gerry in Edmonton, Alberta and grandchildren Chris, Kevin, Robyn, Allison, William, Daniel, Karlee and Devon.
Thanks to Coho staff at Nicola Lodge for taking care of Dad.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Port Coquitlam Legion #133 are appreciated.
