

Binghamton, NY: Alan M. McKaig, MD, 92, passed away peacefully, Sunday December 9, 2012. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathryn Cheli; sons, Alan M. McKaig, Jr., and Larry B. McKaig; brothers, F. Burton, Jon & David McKaig; sisters, Martha Hoople & Cynthia Hammond. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois (Diehl) McKaig; son & daughter-in-law, Brian & Ann McKaig, Tuscaloosa, AL; stepchildren, Timothy & Eileen Heslin, Binghamton, NY, Edward & JoCarole Heslin, Bradenton, FL, Patrick & Shannon Heslin, Tampa, FL, Margaret Heslin Trance, Binghamton, NY and Mary Heslin, Binghamton, NY; 21 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Marguerite Craner, Reynoldsburg, OH, sisters-in-law, Sylvia Young & Ed Bennett, Puyallup, WA, Judy Diehl, Tyler Hill, PA, Mary & John Fitzgerald, Damascus, PA and Martha & Ronald Canfield, Spring Hill, FL. He was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Endicott. He was a US Army Veteran (AUS Medical Corp). During his career as a physician he worked in Alabama and Minnesota, and was a physician and partner in the Chenango Bridge Medical Group, was the Medical Director at Chenango Bridge Nursing Home and was the Medical Director of Whitten Center, Clinton, SC and was a Charter Member of the Academy Of American Family Practice. Alan was an reader and gardener. He loved traveling with his wife Lois. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012, 2PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Endicott, 29 Grant Ave. Endicott, NY. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 12 Noon until the time of service.
