Blanche Marie Williams

Blanche Marie Williams (93) of Kirkwood, NY passed away peacefully on March 10, 2023 at the Ideal Senior Living Center. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Mayfield, Pa. and was a graduate of the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. Blanche was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband David J. Williams, Sr. in February, 2003. She was also predeceased by her parents, Carl and Anne Pietriyk, mother-in-law Ann Michaletz, sisters and brother-in-law Irene Clementoni, Helen and Henry Boyarsky, brother Edward Pietriyk and sisters-in-law Gloria and Patricia Pietriyk, sister-in-law Elizabeth Oakley and her husband Leon Oakley. She is survived by her loving children, Cynthia Royea, Davette Marie (Thomas) Cummings, David J. Williams, Jr., Carl (Robin) Williams, Brian (Amanda) Williams and James (Mary) Williams. “Blanchie” adored her grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Royea, Carrie-Jo (Bill) Wallace, Kristin Marie (Allen) Gatlin, Roger Williams, Nathan Williams (and fiancé Emma), Caitlin Williams, Rachel Williams, Ashley Slavick, Hunter Slavick, Logan and Carson Williams. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Margaret Oakley and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Blanche was a long-time member of St. Mary’s church in Kirkwood, NY and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Blanche was the rock of the family and one of her greatest pleasures was when the entire family gathered with her and Dave at their home for her traditional Easter Brunch. Throughout the years, Blanche and Dave enjoyed their day trips, flea market adventures, trips to Lancaster, Pa and their crafting projects.

Blanche was a devoted and loving Wife, Mother, Mother-In-Law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten as everyone carries a little piece of Blanchie with them.

The family will receive visitors at St. Mary’s Church in Kirkwood, NY at 9:00 am on March 14,2023 with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City NY. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to St. Mary’s Church 975 NY Rt. 11 Kirkwood, N.Y. 13795.
