

Carl was born in Uniondale, PA to Clarence and Helen Churchill. He was married to Phyllis Rippon of Tompkinsville, PA in 1956. Carl and Phyllis celebrated 65 years of marriage on December 29. He served proudly in the Army from 1956 to 1958, serving in the 740th AAA Missile Battalion in Fort Scott, CA. They settled in the Binghamton area in 1959. Carl was one of the first employees for United Parcel Service in Binghamton, retiring in 1991 after 31 years of service. He loved to spend time with his family and play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He cherished the time he had to hunt and fish with family and friends for most of his life. He enjoyed sharing stories with his fellow Teamsters at the monthly luncheons. Carl was a member of Nimmonsburg United Methodist church.
Carl is survived by his wife Phyllis. He is also survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Debra and Kevin Williams (Wake Forest, NC), and Penny and Edward Farley (Vestal, NY); and a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Ronda Churchill (Raleigh, NC). He is survived by 5 grandchildren, Danielle, Christopher, Graham, Jessica, and Evan; and 4 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ryder, Riley, and Easton.
The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church, 918 Upper Front Street, Binghamton, NY. The visitation will be followed by the Funeral service at 11 a.m, with Rev. Jenni Piatt officiating. Burial will be held in Vestal Hills Memorial Park following the service.
