Catherine is survived by her daughter, Heather Robinson, and son-in-law, Adam Ussery; her sisters, Cindy Simon (and her husband, Rick Simon) and Joanne Stevenson; her brother, Bill Holden; her nephews, Tyler Ruffo and Zachary Holden; her niece, Sara Stevenson; and her cousins, Anna, Ian and Shawn Holt as well as many cousins far and wide. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and Frederick Holden, and her many beloved pets, whom she now joins.
Catherine’s deeply compassionate, larger-than-life spirit left a lasting impression on everyone. She saw the world with a sense of wonder that never faded. Her many talents and ventures including dazzling us on stage in local musical theater productions, silencing an entire room when she stepped on stage for karaoke or in one of her many bands throughout the years, taking us from tears to laughter with her two published novels and showing everyone what it meant to advocate for those who could not advocate for themselves with her passion for animal welfare and rescue. In her professional life, she spent two decades dedicated to helping countless families realize their dream of homeownership. She will be remembered as a woman who never stopped working tirelessly for those around her. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you consider a donation to the Broome Animal Sanctuary, 315 NY-145, Middleburgh, NY 12122, which was a special place to her and is home to many of the animals she advocated for.
A Celebration of Cat’s Life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 1-5pm at Hickories Park, Pavilion 3, 359 Hickories Park Road, Owego, NY 13827.
