Darlene K. Martin

Darlene K. Martin, 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024. She was predeceased by her parents Charles & Frances Short, father-in-law and mother-in-law William & Helen Martin and her aunts Ricki and Carol.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Kevin Martin; her son and daughter-in-law Ryan & Christine Martin; siblings David & Kathy Short, Wendy Short and Tammy & Brian French; in-laws Rick & Ruby Martin, Tom & Linda Martin and Keith & Jackie Martin, aunt Jo Cohen; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her lifelong best friend Colleen Collins.

Darlene was an employee of Universal Instruments for 27 years and then went on to work at St. Louise Manor for 10 years at the front desk where she enjoyed getting to know the residents and there families. She also enjoyed making jewelry, her flowers, sitting by her pool, vacationing in the Caribbean and most of all spending time with her family. She loved life and doing for everyone. Whether you called her your wife, mom, sister or friend she had a way of making you feel as if you were the most important person in her life. She was very proud of her son and being his mom.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 11-1 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 PM.
