David M. Hanzes, 26, of Kingston, PA (formerly of Binghamton) lost his battle with severe depression on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. David was born on June 2, 1988, in Kingston PA. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Audrey C. Wandell, his paternal grandparents Frank B. and Mary K. Hanzes. David is survived by his parents David A. and Colleen L. Hanzes; his sister Rebecca L. Hanzes and her fiancé Gary A. Dewey; his grandfather John R. Wandell, and his special friend Rebecca Salko. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. David graduated from Chenango Forks High School in 2006 and attended Penn State University. He was employed as a store manager at CVS Pharmacy in Pittston, PA. David was a devoted Penn State football fan and we believe that he is now enjoying an in-depth discussion on college football with Joe Pa. He leaves behind fellow Penn State fraternity brothers and Chenango Forks friends that he considered brothers. He also had many friends at various CVS Pharmacy locations in NY and PA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 31, from 3-6pm at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, September 1 at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi in Hillcrest, NY Burial to follow at a later date in Uniontown PA.
