Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara; children, Kevin, Darren (Irina), and Amy (Mike) Kipar; grandchildren, Colin, Blake, Laronda, Rachel, David, Abby, Amber, Toni, Darby and Nathan; 12 great-grandchildren; and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Don was kind, generous, and actively involved in his community. He served as a Hillcrest Volunteer Fireman and as Scoutmaster for Hillcrest Troop 199. Along with his wife Barbara, Don also volunteered with the Hillcrest Community Association Booster Days, and he remained an active member of the Community Baptist Church for more than 60 years—often cooking at the church breakfasts.
Visitation will be held at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St, Port Dickinson, NY 13901, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Visitation will also be held at Community Baptist Church, 743 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Don with a memorial contribution to the Community Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
