Donald J. Whitbeck

Donald J. Whitbeck, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023. He is predeceased by his parents, Wade and Anita Whitbeck; his wife Shirley (Bush) Whitbeck; sisters, Gayle, Margaret, Ruth, and Barbara; and brothers, John, Sr., and Charles. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Pat) Whitbeck and Michael (Amy) Whitbeck; grandchildren, Megan (Sean), Macie (Kendall), and Madaleyne (Tom); sisters, Joan and Beverly. He is also survived by his special friend, Julie Billet.

Donald proudly served in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne and worked as a skilled carpenter for over 40 years. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants, and especially enjoyed attending Forks football games with his sons and brother-in-law Butch. Above all, Donald cherished his family and was a wonderful grandfather who will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Donald will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St, Port Dickinson, New York 13901, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Sanataria Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of his wife Shirley.
