Earl “Jake” Furman, 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 19, 2018. He was predeceased by his first wife Jane Furman and second wife Dorothy Furman; his parents Harold & Jennie Furman, brother Ralph Furman and sisters Bessie Holder & Eleanor Prentice.
He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl & Roger Peet, Lori & Dick Conrad and Jill & David Bodie; six grandchildren Mark & Nicole Peet, Jodie Peet, Jim & Karena Conrad, Scott & Christy Conrad, Melissa & Jason Rusnak and Tom Bodie; 17 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; his twin sister and brother-in-law Shirley & Bryce Rickard, sister Arlene Karlsrtom and sister Leah Colpitts and several nieces and nephews.
He was an US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Engineers Local 410 and he was also a retired Highway Superintendent for the Town of Windsor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was the patriarch of the family as they all looked up to him for his guidance and respect.
We would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Floyd for his 35 plus years of amazing care and to all of the staff at the Hooper Road UHS office. Also we would like to thank the Angels here on earth at Wilson Hospital North Wing 3.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 1:30pm at the First United Methodist Church, 56 Chapel Street, Windsor. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:30am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Windsor.
