Edward Schad, a compassionate and kind-hearted man, passed away with his loving wife by his side, on October 31, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 23, 1951, Edward was a resident of Windsor, New York.
Edward was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he pursued a career as a CDL truck driver for Agway/Suburban in Vestal, NY, where he was known for his dedication and hard work.
He was a devoted family man who cherished his role as a loving husband to Tina Mason-Schad for 37 years they were an inspiration to all that knew them. Edward was a proud father to Chrystal Williams (Brian), Mary Jo Jordan, and Mickey Schad. He was also a beloved grandfather to Chelsea Norris, Rosie Mae and, Freya Jordan, Ivy Schmitz, Natasha, Adrianna, and Tristan Thompson. His grandchildren always brought a smile to his face, even on his worst days.
Edward's family extended to his sister Mary Jaworski and sister-in-law Angel Lavin (Edwin), as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Iola Schad, Sr., his son Edward A. Schad, III and stepsons Ezekiel Thompson, David Norris, Jr., his brothers Francis, Bernard, John, and James Craig Schad, his brothers-in-law Charles, Jr., Phillip, Ronald, Richard and Robert "Skeet" Mason; his sisters-in-law Cynthia Balles and Tammy Stone and step father Richard Dawn.
We would like to send a special thank you to his good friend John Norris for all his help through Ed's 18 years of illness.
An avid Giants fan, Edward enjoyed brewing beer in his leisure time. His love for life and his compassionate nature touched everyone he met. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The Family will recieve friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY on Wednesday November 5, 2025 from 11am-12pm with a funeral service at 12pm. Burial will follow in the Spring Forest Cemetery, Binghamton, NY.
