Eugene Taren passed away on Friday, June 8th. Gene leaves behind his wife Carol and a family that was his greatest joy. Gene was born in Scranton, PA, the youngest of four children. He graduated from Penn State University after serving in the US Army in France during WW II. He met his wife of 66 years on a blind date in 1952 and married her 6 months later. Gene and Carol were members of Vestal Hills Country Club for 40 years and made many lasting friendships there and during their travels. Gene owned and operated Tarco Steel with the help of many dedicated employees. He believed that his employees were his most valuable asset.
