Florence served her country with steadfast dedication, enlisting in the US Army from 1954–1957. After her return, she joined the Navy Reserves, where she continued her service until her retirement—an enduring reflection of a life marked by duty, discipline, and quiet strength.
A lifetime member of the Community Baptist Church of Port Dickinson, Florence’s faith and commitment to community were constants throughout her life. In ways both seen and unseen, she was known for a spirit of generosity—always giving back, and offering care and consideration to those around her.
Florence held a special love for her family, particularly her nieces and nephews, and she will be remembered with gratitude and affection by those whose lives she touched.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Flossie Fowler; her sisters & brothers-in-law, Estella & Leonard Gee & Gertrude & Hilton Skinner; and her dear friend, Ella Stanton. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Graveside service will be held in the Chenango Valley Cemetery on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11am with Military Honors.
