Gary Andrews

Gary Andrews, 68, of Chenango Forks, NY passed away on November 29, 2023, peacefully at home. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert & Betty Andrews, and in-laws, Charles & Margaret Ahlers. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Karen, daughter and son-in-law, Jaime & Kip Herner, son, Jason Andrews, grandchildren, Brynn Andrews, Samantha Herner, Cole Andrews, brothers Rod & Jerry, sister, Sally Merrit, many nieces & nephews, and many close friends.

He was outgoing and always trying to make people laugh. He was thoughtful, kind, and considerate. A devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather.

Gary retired from IBM after working for 33 years. During his life he was very involved in the Palomino Community and served two terms as president of the NYPEA affiliate and as PHBA Finance Committee Chair for several years. He was also an entrepreneur of a business that provided Custom Embroidery and Engraving with his wife Karen, as well as a business he recently started with his grandchildren, BSC Candles. He spent the rest of his time taking care of his animals and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and friends.

Recently, he adopted a stray kitten Jaime had rescued, whom he treasured, and invested in a pontoon boat with Jason that he was ecstatic to have taken on a maiden voyage at Dorchester Park in October.

Gary was full of life and jokes from the minute his feet hit the floor in the morning. Which was probably not easy for a person who lived with a bunch of definitely not morning people. His presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
