To Patrick, Family and Friends,

We all grew up together, Patrick, my sister Claudia and brother Norman.  My parents Elsie and Clyde Brown along with George and Jo and others were the ARC founders.  

Many Saturdays were spent either having swimming lessons, or outings, or Square Dancing with Claudia and Patrick's peers and their families.  These are fond memories.  Jo and George and Elsie and Clyde were great friends and we spent many a weekend afternoon at each other's homes having a picnic or dinner.

I always found George fascinating.  He seemed to know everything and could impart his knowledge in a way that was never intimidating.  The last visit I had with him has to be 8 - 10 years ago.  He showed me his latest project in his wood shop, he was restoring a water damaged hutch that had multiple carvings in it that had to be preserved.  

I also remember they had great dogs over the years and that the dogs were always as friendly as the family was.

I could go on and on as the memories flow in.  But suffice it to say that the Brown Family loved the Sheehe Family and the benefits of their friendship and love for us are still carried with us.

George always relived the memory of when I moved next door each time I visited. He called me "Kidd" and I called him "Old Man." It was great that his memory was so crisp, and totally devoted to his Josephine.  I never met her, but I feel as though I knew her well through his stories.  Patrick was a joy and George's other devotion in life, there is nothing he wouldn't do for his family.  

Fortunately, family can be chosen and not blood related as we age.  For George, he made me family, but his daily family lived across the street - Sue, Rick, Natalie, and Hilary.  George, as well as all of us on the street, was certainly blessed to have them as neighbors.  Their dedication and support for George and Patrick occurred through grace, not recognition.  

My heart goes out to those who are survived.  This is the first time I have ever been able to say that I am happy for a person that has passed on.  I know with certainty, that George is definitely at peace and happy to be with his Josephine and our Lord.  George is saying hello and meeting all of my family that has passed before him, and they are thanking him for looking out for me.

My last visit with him, in September, he spent teaching me the difference between a screw and a bolt - it was always something :-)!  He will always be remembered in my mind, and forever loved in my heart.

George was an amazing person and we will miss him dearly! Things will not be the same without his smiling face, his friendly personality, and his greetings to  the kids, Dave, and I every time we saw him out and about.   I am very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.  He sounds like someone who accomplished a lot in his life.  You must be very proud of him as I'm sure he is of you.
