

George J. Sheehe of Chenango Bridge, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 12, 2012. In addition to his parents, Bernard & Anna (Ollinger) Sheehe, he was also pre-deceased by his wife, Josephine F. Sheehe and two brothers; Edward and Bernard. George is survived by his son, Patrick F. Sheehe, brother, Robert of State College, PA., sisters; Mary Boyle of Marietta, GA., Anna and Tim Collenbach of Gettysburg, PA., Sister Joel Marie Sheehe IHM of Poconos, PA., dear friends; Rick & Susan, Natalie, Hilary Robinson, also many nieces and nephews. George was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, a founding member of the Broome County Chapter A.R.C., a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II one of the original CADRE members of the2nd Armored Div. Served with the 9th Armored Div @ St. Veith during the Battle of the Buldge and was with the first unit to cross the Rhine River at Remagen, having received the Bronze Star. George was a retiree of I.B.M. after 32 years of service.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may stop at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY 13901 on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
