

Hazel J. (Earl) Spencer, 81, of Windsor, NY passed away on June 8, 2016 after a long and courageous health struggle in which she never complained. Hazel was born on February 2, 1935 the daughter of Harold and Mildred (Austin) Earl who predeceased her. She grew up on the family farm in Windsor along with her sister, Virginia Earl, who also predeceased her. Hazel was a retired employee of Great American Foodlines and after retirement again went to work part time at Boscov's Department store in Binghamton for many years. She was extremely outgoing and loved to travel with her many friends and family. Hazel was President of the Windsor Civic Club for several years and traveled on many trips with the Windsor Senior Citizen's group before her illness. She was very athletic throughout her life and participated in softball, bowling and other leagues for many years. She was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan with much memorabilia to show for it. Hazel was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and supported her children and grandchildren in any activity or sport they participated in, rarely missing an event. Hazel was also predeceased by her former husband, Elmer Spencer, and is survived by their children, Debra (James) Munson, Linda (Frank) Egitto, Jacqueline (Michael) Nabinger, and Thomas (Lorrainne) Spencer. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, Michael (Carolyn) Munson, Timothy (Angela) Munson, Daniel (Meg) Egitto, Beth (Eric) Lucas, Sarah (Brian) Egitto, Katie Egitto, Scott Egitto, Amy (Ron) McCormack, Christopher Nabinger, Kellen (Natasha) Spencer and Patrick (Abbey) Spencer. Hazel is also survived by her great grandchildren, Dakotah (Joel), Haley, Santino, Porter, Jack, Carmella, Colin, Samantha, Cameron, Jaden, and Rory as well as many extended family members. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Wm.R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kent St. Windsor, NY with interment immediately following at Knox Cemetery in Ouaquaga, NY.
