Helene L. (McLeod) Polhamus

On March 2, 2026, Helene McLeod Polhamus left this world six days shy of her 97th birthday to join hands with her husband of 68 years, Robert Polhamus, Sr. who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna McLeod, her brothers, Joseph, Donald and Douglas, her sisters, Justine, Marion and Doris, son David and daughter-in-law Debbie, and dear grandchildren Kimberly and Robert III.

Helene is survived by her sons, Daniel Sr. (Karen), Robert Jr. (Shawn), Ronald (Kelly), Steven (Robin), and Stanley. Also, grandchildren Daniel Jr. (Jane), Matthew (Lisa), Rebecca (Mark), Amanda, Cindy (Mike) Amy (Colin), Michelle (Rodney), Christian, Laura (Brian), Helene (George), Jennifer, Craig (Olivia), Julie, Samantha, Nicole, Breanna, Douglas (Krissy) Alex, and Annika; great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Helene’s life was marked by hard work and a strong devotion to family. She retired from Lander Company as a production team leader. Her enjoyments included bowling, doing puzzles, playing card games, reading romance novels and collecting souvenir bells. She also enjoyed cooking tasty meals for her husband and six hungry boys.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 12-2pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 2pm. Burial will be in the Windsor Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
