On Sunday, July 20, 2025, days after her 90th birthday, Inez M. Gigliotti, left this earthly world believing the Lord created a beautiful afterlife where she would be reunited with her loved ones. She was born to the late Mattie & Marion Sciamanna in Eynon, PA. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 43 years John Gigliotti, her special aunt Margaret (Angelo) Gentile, siblings Rina (Albert) Vyziak, Gloria (William) O’Hara, Edie Sciamanna, Phil Sciamanna, nephew Anthony Vyziak, niece Sharon Connelly, sister-in-law Mary (Arthur, Sr.) Crisanti and sister-in-law Rose (Jack) Connelly.
As the youngest of 5 children, Inez looked up to her siblings and proudly was a self- appointed historian accumulating newspaper articles and photographs documenting each of their accomplishments.
She herself was a graduate of St. Paul’s Binghamton High School and then worked as a meticulous bookkeeper for Crandall Supply for 19 years and Chenango Valley Animal Hospital for 10 years. While she enjoyed her work, she would tell you her greatest accomplishment was marrying her husband, John. They filled their home with lifelong friends, family celebrations, treasured antiques and cherished possessions from their travels. Together they enjoyed square dancing, as members of “Shufflin’ Shoes” and the “Square Dance Has Beens”. Throughout their marriage they may have traveled to distant places but, some of the best memories they made were day trips to Eynon, PA to share laughter, love and homemade cooking with extended family.
Inez leaves behind her loving nieces and nephews Sharon Snow, Donna (Perry) Golkin, Kim (Michael) Hayden, Lori Sciamanna, Michael (Jessica) Sciamanna, Arthur Crisanti, Michael Crisanti, Rosemarie (Matt) Figert, Frank (Sue) Crisanti, Diane (Jay) Morais, Anthony Crisanti, John Connelly, Debra Patricia (William) Giblin and Joseph (Karen) Connelly; and her sister-in-law Gail Sciamanna as well as many great nieces/ nephews and cousins to carry on her faith, her cannoli recipe and her love of family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1049 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 0n Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 9-10am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers kindly consider donations to St. Francis of Assisi Church, Good Shepherd Fairview Home or your local food pantry.
