

James H. Wahl, 82, of Binghamton, formerly of Cadosia, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at home surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Inez (Menhennet) Wahl; his son, Roddy D. Wahl; his daughter, Kathy A. (Lance) Adams; his granddaughter, Carrie Wahl; six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth E. Wahl; his children, James J. Wahl of Morris, Sandra J. Zegretti of WA, Diana L. and Jack Perri of Lisle, Shelly M. Isaak of Johnson City, Leslie A. (Buck) and Debbie Wahl of Binghamton; his sisters-in-law, Lorraine Wahl of AZ and Meg Wahl of Hancock; his brother-in-law, Stewart and Tana Boa of NC; his grandchildren, Jeff, Tia, Jaimi, Peter, Patrick, Andrew, Jilleen, Michael, Samantha, Matthew, Roddy and Heather; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jim served his country in the US Army in Korea and Japan where he was a driver for Gen. Douglas MacArthur, and he also served as a signalman. He was a railroader for 43 years and was a member of the UTU, spending most of his career on the Delaware and Hudson. He was also an avid fly fisherman, fly tier, hunter, master carpenter, gardener, Little League baseball coach, and all around good man. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson with Rev. Robert Peak officiating. Burial will follow at Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
